How to Create Abundance and Flow Using Daily Mantras and Affirmations

“The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of the state of your mind.” – Wayne Dyer

Over time, it’s occurred to me that the best way to truly create long lasting change in my life was by establishing a daily practice of mantras and affirmations. But before I get into how you can create abundance and flow in your life with this simple daily practice, I want to get into the difference between a mantra and an affirmation.

Traditionally speaking, mantras have been used in religious contexts like Hinduism and Buddhism. They are words or sounds repeated as a way to help increase concentration and focus during meditation.

In a more contemporary sense, mantras are often used in self-help circles to help create changes in belief systems. A mantra can therefore be a statement that you repeat frequently, sometimes several times a day, in order to shift your perspective and teach your brain to think differently.

Similarly, affirmations were popularized by self-help authors like Louise Hay as a way of re-programming your thoughts and learning to love and accept yourself as you are. They’re particularly helpful for people who have several negative beliefs about themselves or the world, and are actively working to change their way of thinking.

In my own journey, I’ve used both mantras and affirmations. For a time, I used Buddhist mantras in my daily meditations. And, later, I started learning to create mantra statements and daily affirmations as part of my personal development work.

The exercises below represent some of my favorite and most effective mantra and affirmation statements.

So, how do we create abundance and flow in our lives? It’s simple…with gratitude.

For me, the three most important aspects of my life which have needed a shift in mindset have been relationships, health, and most recently money.

Money expert and best selling Japanese author Ken Honda recommends saying THANK YOU every time you purchase or receive money. He says that this is the only way to eliminate our fears, anxiety, and lack of trust about money.

I was inspired by his work and decided to created three gratitude statements you can use daily as mindset exercises.

For your money…

“THANK YOU FOR EVERY FINANCIAL TRANSACTION I MAKE AND EVERY AMOUNT THAT GOES IN AND OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT”

For your relationships…

“THANK YOU (name of family member or friend) FOR EVERY POSITIVE MOMENT WE’VE SPENT TOGETHER.”

For for health…

“THANK YOU (body part or your body) FOR EVERY ACTIVITY YOU ALLOW ME TO PARTICIPATE IN.”

When you repeat these mantras daily or even several times over the course of your day, this helps your mind get comfortable with the new reality you are trying to create such as a healthy body, healthy relationships, and financial abundance.

I created a cheat sheet with these three mantras, as well as others that can help increase abundance and flow, and help you create (or hold) your vision for a more fulfilling life. To receive immediate access to a free copy of my Daily Mindful Practice Checklist. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS!

What are the benefits of daily affirmations?

Using daily affirmations or mantras has many positive benefits for your mind, body, and spirit. They can help you become more aware of your thoughts and the language you use. They can help you reduce or eliminate negative beliefs, by replacing them with positive ones. They also keep you focused on the things you want in life. They can help you stay (or become) more optimistic which is good for your health. When you use affirmations or mantras daily, you can begin to have a positive impact on others by being a role model for productivity and peace of mind. Finally, your daily mantras can help you gain more perspective about what’s important and what really isn’t.

How can I support my daily practice and enhance these benefits?

This is where your life vision comes in. Using mantras and affirmations is great. But without your personal vision of how you see your ideal life, they won’t be enough.

It’s important to have absolute clarity about what it is that you’re creating in order to be able to write the appropriate statements.

But, more than that, you also need to feel inside your body what it would be like if you had these things. How would it feel if you were financially abundant? You can use a journal to describe in detail how you see this happening in your mind.

What would you purchase? How much money would you make a month? More importantly, how would you feel when you spend or receive money. Remember that the more gratitude you feel, the less negative feelings will be attached to the thought.

Eliminating negative beliefs and feelings is the best way to eliminate resistance. The same process applies for beliefs about your health and relationships. Journaling can help you clarify exactly what it is that you want to achieve or change.

Do you see yourself in a loving, reciprocal relationship where things easily flow? What word would you use to describe how you feel when you have it?

Do you see yourself with amazing health and a strong vibrant body? How does this feel?

Establishing this daily practice based on your clear vision can be daunting at first if you’re not sure what you want. My checklist is meant as a starting point and over time you may be able to create your own as you learn exactly what you want to create.

There are so many ways to apply mantras and affirmations but the ultimate purpose should always be to help you enhance your life and bring you more peace, fulfillment, and happiness.
